Bangkok golf usually brings to mind the eastern courses around Suvarnabhumi and Bang Na, but a string of long-established courses lies north of Don Mueang, the city's low-cost-carrier airport. Pathum Thani and Rangsit are 10–20km from the terminal, easy for an arrival-afternoon or pre-flight round, and a little further north you can pair golf with Ayutthaya's ruins in a single day. North Bangkok neighbourhoods also reach these courses more easily than the eastern ones.

After a morning round, a short drive takes you to the temple ruins of the Historical Park, fitting golf and sightseeing into one day. Bookings start at two players, and weekend groups of five or more ride in compulsory carts.
The closest courses to Don Mueang are Riverdale and Bangkok Golf Club on Tiwanon Road, both about 10km away. Play a round after a morning arrival before checking in, or squeeze in a last one before an evening flight. Bangkok Golf Club, Pinehurst and Rachakram also sell night golf, which helps on late-arrival days.
