Sukhumvit Soi 11 is one of Bangkok's densest lanes for restaurants, bars and rooftops. If the plan is dinner, another drink and a walk home without a taxi, staying on the soi itself is the surest way to do it. Soi 13 next door is only a block away but noticeably quieter, a good alternative if you want to be close without the noise.

On Friday and Saturday nights Soi 11 fills with cars and people right to the far end. Low-floor rooms facing the street can pick up music, so if you are sensitive to noise ask for a high floor or an inward-facing room. Hotels on Soi 13 or on side lanes such as Soi 11/1 are much quieter at night despite being in the same neighbourhood.
Nana BTS is a few minutes from the mouth of Soi 11, but the far end of the lane is more than 500m away. For hot days or heavy bags, check whether your hotel runs a tuk-tuk to the station.
The mouth of the soi is full of convenience stores, money changers and massage shops, so daily errands are easy. If your trip centres on evenings out, skipping breakfast and taking a late brunch at a café on the soi is a perfectly good plan.
