  • Kusatsu and Ikaho are separate towns. If you plan to visit both, check travel time and bus frequency before deciding whether to split your nights.
  • Dinner and breakfast, bathing hours and the latest check-in time vary by property and booking plan. Review the conditions for the room you select.
  • Both towns have hills and steps. With larger bags, check the walking route and incline between the bus stop and your accommodation.

Good to know before you book

In Kusatsu, start with your evening plans: an 80-room hotel puts both Yubatake and Sainokawara Park within a five-minute walk, while a ryokan opened in 1965 sits between the town's central streets and offers on-site dining. For a smaller stay near Yubatake and the five-storied pagoda, compare the 14-room property; for winter skiing, Hoshino Resorts KAI Kusatsu is two minutes on foot from the slopes.

The Ikaho property is about five minutes by car from the stone-step street. Free parking, a restaurant and a bar-lounge make it a practical base for driving around Ikaho and Shibukawa. If Kusatsu is also on your itinerary, compare the inter-town journey before choosing a one-base or split-stay plan.
