In Japan the total can change within the same hotel depending on the plan. For three nights, a night in Naha on arrival and departure with two in an Onna resort in between balances travel and rest. If the Churaumi Aquarium is on the list, book a night near Motobu so you can be there at opening. With two nights, narrowing to either Naha or a resort saves the driving.
Central Naha works on the monorail and on foot, but the Onna and Motobu resorts effectively need a car. Decide on the rental before you pick the hotel.
