Points policy
There are two main ways to earn points with Monkeytravel.
Our points program is designed to reward customers and help them enjoy more excitement, fun, and memorable travel experiences.
1. Earn points based on product reservations

VIP Member
Members who have paid more than
3 million won in the past 5 years
Cash payments: earn 4%

Gold Member
Members who have confirmed at least one reservation
Cash payments: earn 3%

Silver Member
Members who have not confirmed any reservations
No point accumulation
- Cash payments include bank transfers, virtual accounts, and real-time bank transfers. Money top-ups through easy-payment services are not eligible.
- Travel agencies and partner members are subject to separate criteria.
Point accumulation time
Booking → Payment (excluding JPY payments) → Points credited automatically the day after you use the product.
Notes
- Points cannot be used for reservations that accrue points.
- When paying in JPY, you cannot earn or redeem points, and the payment does not count toward your membership tier.
- For bookings paid partly with points, points are earned on the remaining amount paid.
- The points programs for Monkeytravel World (excluding Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Guam) and partner members are separate.

2. Earn points for writing posts
Earn points based on product reservations
Members who submit travel reviews, Live Reviews, or Monkey Compass place reviews will receive points.
Earn points based on article writing
- Comment50 points (minimum 15 characters)
Comments earn points up to a maximum of three per day.
- MonkeyCompass Hot Place Review100 points (minimum 50 characters)
Compass place reviews earn points up to a maximum of 10 per day.
- Live Review200 points (minimum 50 characters)
Earn 300 additional points for uploading one or more photos.
- Travel Review1,000 points (minimum 300 characters)
Travel reviews earn points up to a maximum of one per day.
Point accumulation time
Points are credited as soon as your post is published. If you delete the post later, the points awarded will be deducted.
Notes
- Posts about reservations or posts in My Page do not earn points.
- Points earned by writing posts do not affect your membership tier.
- Repeatedly posting the same Live Review or travel-review content, or posting unrelated content to farm points, harms the community. Any points earned may be deducted, and bookings paid for with those points may be canceled.
Point details
- Value: 1 point is worth 1 Korean won.
- Minimum: You can use at least 5,000 points when paying 10,000 won or more.
- Use: Points can be used like cash for all products, except when paying in JPY. For bookings paid partly with points, you can earn points on the remaining amount paid.
- Validity: 5 years. Unused points expire automatically at the end of the validity period.
- Ownership: Points may be used only for bookings made in your name. They cannot be transferred, sold, or exchanged. All points expire when you close your membership account and cannot be restored.
