Wakayama runs south from Kansai Airport along the coastal expressway. Wakayama City is around forty minutes away, and the further south you go toward Hidaka the longer the return, so it is safer to keep the final round near the airport.
Course length varies unusually widely here, from layouts in the 4,000-yard range to others past 7,200 yards, so check holes and yardage before assuming a similar test.
The coastal courses stay relatively mild in winter, though windy days are common, and summer is humid. The Kii highland courses are the better summer choice.
Comparing a Japanese tee time on the headline green fee alone tends to produce a different number at the counter. Confirm whether cart, caddie or self play, lunch, locker and the local golf tax are included, then check rental clubs or shoes, minimum player counts, two-player supplements, payment method and whether overseas visitors can book.
