- 10:00 Noboribetsu Jigokudani (Hell Valley) [approx. 30 minutes]
This 450 m-diameter volcanic crater, where nine types of hot spring water emerge, is known as Hell Valley. Steam rising from the ground and the smell of sulfur make it look and feel like the underworld.
- 11:30 Lake Toya Onsen Area [Lunch at your leisure] [Approx. 80 minutes]
Enjoy the beautiful lakeside scenery of Lake Toya, as well as Mount Yotei, known as Hokkaido’s Mount Fuji, and the many sculptures dotted along the shore.
- 13:20 Sairo Observatory [approximately 20 minutes]
Lake Toya, a vast caldera lake formed by volcanic activity, offers sweeping views of Mount Usu and other active volcanoes, along with the magnificent natural scenery of Hokkaido.
- 14:20 Fukidashi Park [Approx. 40 minutes]
This spring water, recognized as one of Japan’s 100 best waters, originates from snowmelt from Mount Yotei, known as Hokkaido’s Mount Fuji. The water seeps underground and emerges as groundwater, maintaining a temperature of around 6.5°C year-round.
- 15:50 Hoheikyo Onsen [approx. 90 minutes]
Enjoy a relaxing soak in the grand open-air bath, sculpted by a master garden designer at a hot spring resort voted Japan’s No. 1 day-use onsen.
