Named by CNN as one of Japan’s most beautiful places, this spot offers stunning views of vermilion shrine gates, coastal cliffs, and lush greenery.
It’s said that placing a coin in the offering box on the 6m-high torii gate will make your love come true. If there’s someone special in your life, why not give it a try?
- 12:50 Akiyoshido Cave [Lunch] [Approx. 70 minutes]
No sightseeing is complete without a good meal! Enjoy a set meal featuring Yamaguchi’s local specialty, fugu rice cooked in an earthenware pot.
Once you’re refueled, it’s time to explore again. Admire Akiyoshidai, a natural masterpiece shaped over a span far longer than human history, and a limestone cave with an astonishing 300-million-year history.
The cave stays at a comfortable 17°C year-round, making it cool in summer and warm in winter.

A 600-year-old hot spring gaining attention for its recent revitalization project, it is known for its alkaline waters, which are believed to help relieve nerve and muscle pain and ease fatigue.
