  • Wind, rain and bridge approaches affect ride timing. Luggage services also have their own locations and cut-offs; check the forecast, operator rules and current service days before setting out.

Good to know before you book

Starting in Onomichi suits a ride from Hiroshima Prefecture toward Imabari. Confirm your route to the rental point, including any ferry leg, and set a manageable first section.

Starting in Imabari takes you from Ehime across the islands toward Onomichi. The public rental network has ten terminals between the two cities, including stops on several islands. Match terminal spacing to your planned distance and check bike availability at your starting point.

A full crossing is one way to experience the islands. You can leave larger bags in station lockers or use luggage delivery between participating accommodations; services commonly require morning drop-off and evening pickup. Confirm eligible hotels, cut-off times and fees, then break the ride with an overnight island stay if you want a slower pace.
