The park offers beautiful scenery throughout the year, from pink cherry blossoms in spring and blooming lotus flowers in summer to colorful autumn foliage. Shinobazu Pond is one of its main attractions, featuring peaceful waterside paths, lotus-covered areas, and boat rentals where visitors can enjoy the scenery from the water.
Ueno Park is also an important cultural center, with several well-known attractions including Tokyo National Museum, the National Museum of Nature and Science, the National Museum of Western Art, and Ueno Zoo. Historic landmarks such as Shinobazu Bentendo Temple and the statue of Saigo Takamori add to the park's cultural charm.

Monkey Tips
Spring is one of the best times to visit Ueno Park, especially from late March to early April when the cherry blossoms are typically at their peak. During the cherry blossom season, the park can become very crowded, so visiting early in the morning or on weekdays is recommended.
For beautiful waterside scenery, take a walk around Shinobazu Pond. Lotus flowers usually bloom in July and August, and early morning between 07:00 and 09:00 is an especially good time to see the flowers open.
Visitors can also rent rowboats, pedal boats, or swan boats at Shinobazu Pond for a different view of the park. Boat rental fees and operating hours are separate from the park's free admission.
The park is open from 05:00 to 23:00, but museums, Ueno Zoo, and other facilities have their own schedules and admission fees. Visitors planning to explore these attractions should check the individual opening hours before their visit.
For a relaxed visit, allow approximately 1–2 hours to walk through the park and around Shinobazu Pond. Additional time is recommended if you plan to visit a museum or the zoo.
