Hoi An Ancient Town is an ancient city located in the lower reaches of the Thu Bon River on the coastal plains of Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, approximately 30 km south of Da Nang City. Hoi An emerged in the late 16th century during the Le Dynasty and ushered in the most prosperous era in the history of this trading port centuries later. Thanks to favorable geographical and climatic conditions, Hoi An became a bustling international trade port in the 17th and 18th centuries where Japanese, Chinese, and Western merchant ships converged. Hoi An Ancient Town is also inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List~
