The temple, erected on a pillar in 1049, is designated as Vietnam's National Treasure No. 1. Founded by King Ly Thai Tong, it attracts many locals who come to pay their respects. It is said that the Lotus-enthroned Avalokiteshvara, who had no heir, granted the king a male child, and in gratitude, the Ly Thai Tong Temple was established.
