Overview
The Authors’ Lounge is located on the ground floor of the original Oriental Hotel and exudes old world charm reminiscent of the early 1900s. Turn-of-the-century style wicker furniture and hand-painted fabrics provide the perfect accompaniment to framed photographs of many of the famous writers who have stayed at the hotel since the late nineteenth century. Renowned for its traditional afternoon tea of delicate finger sandwiches, pastries, freshly baked scones and home-made jams, The Authors’ Lounge is a truly unique setting and one of the most photographed locations in Bangkok, if not Thailand.

Seat Information
Advance seat reservations are not available; seating is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you wish to change your seats, please inquire with the on-site staff upon arrival.
Child policy
Children may accompany their parents free of charge.
After booking, please let us know the number of children and their ages through our one-on-one chat.

👗 Dress Code
The Authors’ Lounge adheres to a smart dress code for all guests, including children. Ladies are kindly asked to wear elegant attire and proper footwear, while gentlemen are requested to wear long trousers and closed shoes. Sleeveless shirts for gentlemen are not permitted at any time of the day.

Prices and service details are subject to change without prior notice due to hotel circumstances.
Special rates apply during holidays and peak seasons, including Christmas, Songkran, New Year, Thai public holidays, and Valentine’s Day.
If you are more than 15 minutes late for your reservation, your table may be released to walk-in guests. In such cases, you may need to wait for the next available table, and please understand that we cannot provide a specific estimated waiting time.
One set must be ordered per guest. Please note that sharing one set between multiple people is not allowed.
The seating time is limited to 2 hours after entry, and take-out for leftovers is not available.
