Review Information
There are several representative cooking schools in Bangkok.
This time, we visit Sompong Thai Cooking School, which boasts high satisfaction among foreigners.I have seen it.
Once you finish ordering and exit, a staff member wearing a red apron will be waiting for you.
When asked for your name, you will be given a sticky note with your name and your rank written on it.
You were told to go down via Exit 3 on the right, but there are staff members waiting for you once you arrive!
Not all participants will gather together for pickup; instead, we provide immediate car pickup upon arrival.
If you look at the utility pole at the end of the alley, you'll see it's guiding you with a red sign.
The sign for Silom Thai Cooking School is also visible on the pole right in front.
If you visit, you will find a separate annex building for Sompong Thai Cooking School.
Please go past that area and head to the main building. The branch building is used to conduct classes in separate groups when there are many participants.
If you show the Post-it note given to you by the staff during the first meeting, they will guide you to the table of the corresponding group.
There were two Koreans in my group.

Move with the teacher to the market on the other side at the scheduled time.
You can try the incense yourself, taste it, and listen to the explanation. This is where coconut oil and coconut milk are made.
The water and fans provided upon arriving at the market help cool down the heat.
This is a time to listen to explanations about the characteristics of the ingredients and to touch them directly, even though we do not purchase the ingredients ourselves at the market.
This is the annex.Due to the large number of participants, today's event will be conducted separately in the main building and the annex.

Alright~ It's time to really get started and learn.
The menu is fixed every Tuesday.
What's today's menu, Tuesday?
Chuu Chee Curry with Prawns 추치궁
Chicken and galangal in coconut milk soup, Tom Kha Gai
Pomelo Salad Yamsso
Mango with sticky rice, Kauniyeou Mamuang
Sweet Kauni-fennel Mamu-ang, since it requires soaking and boiling the rice, I don't make it myself.
We'll keep you updated on the progress throughout the class, with explanations in between, and you can also taste the food.
I may have gotten a rough idea of the ingredients from hearing about them at the market, but let me listen to a brief explanation again.
Learn how to prepare ingredients.
Alright! We're starting the practical session right now.
The result of handling the materials.
The teacher is passing down the secret recipe for making tulips as garnish for pomelo salad.
I made a tulip out of a tomato.
Teacher's work
The price varies depending on whether you choose to decorate or not...
Then I'll make one too.
How about it? This is the pomelo salad I made.
It's a considerable success. All by myself...
Kaurinyou Mamuwang, as I mentioned earlier, I will be checking on the progress of the class intermittently.
During the class, we will check the progress in this manner, and also conduct tastings and brief hands-on practice.
Okay, the next menu practice will begin immediately.
This menu features Chuu chee curry with prawns and Tom ka gai (chicken galangal in coconut milk soup).
Then I'll get started on making it right away.
Both were satisfactory by my standards,
Tom KagaiDamn it. I should've been bolder with the oil... I regret it now.
This is the time to enjoy the meals I have prepared through my practice.
For reference, the pomelo salad was served immediately during the practical session.
I made it, but it was truly delicious.
The ingredients don't necessarily have to be bought at the market.
Since everyone says they can easily and cheaply buy it at a nearby convenience store in Thailand,
It might also be a good idea to give it another try along with a recipe book.
SOMPONG = DREAM COMES TRUE
Mr. Sompong Taikooking School also possesses a sense of humor.
Everyone's laughter never ceased.
If you come next time, please avoid coming on Tuesdays.
May everyone's dreams come true...
