This is Somfun Seafood, famous for its Pad Pong Kari.

Bangkok has three famous seafood restaurants well-known among tourists.

And this is Sompun Seafood.

Previously, there were only a few branches, but they have been continuously expanding, 

A branch has also opened at Seiam, a place frequently visited by tourists~ 

 

 

I visited the Surawong branch before, but it was a bit difficult to find. 

 

 

How to get to Sombeun Cee Food:   Get off at BTS Seomyeon Station and find Exit 4.

 

 

The building you see here is "Ceeam Square One." 

 

Sombeun-ssi Food is located on the 4th floor here. 

 

 

Since there's a map, I'll double-check the location^^

 

Take the escalator to the 4th floor. 

 

It was inside the building. 

 

I heard they were supposed to enter in line. I arrived around 11:40, so there weren't many people. (The shop opens at 11.) 

 

 

As expected, the signature dish, Pad Pong Kari, is prominently featured with large print^^

 

Since it's a new building, the restaurant interior was also spotless~

 

 

How about we see what we're going to eat?

 

 

 

As expected, the first page is still Pad Thai. 

 

The price is 380 Baht for size S, 550 Baht for size M, and 1000 to 1200 Baht for size L.

 

I ordered two S sizes for two people^^

 

There were many types.

 

Looking at it, I'm torn on what to choose, looking this way and that way^^;;;;

 

Shrimp dishes (S 300 baht, L 500 baht)

 

Fried Fish (380 Baht) 

 

I really struggled to decide whether to order shrimp dishes or fried fish. I wanted to order everything, but since it was just the two of us, I couldn't order too much.

 

Is Seefood a place where multiple people need to come?

 

 

Since the Pad Pong Kuri seems a bit bland, I decide to go with some spicy fried fish. 

 

 

There are many other menu items too^^

 

Since the most ordered dishes at Somfun are Pad Pong Kari, Morning Glory Stir-fry (Pad Pung Pai Dang), and Fried Rice, 

 

I also like Morning Glory Stir-fry (S 140 Baht, L 200 Baht ) and stir-fried crab meat riceI'll order it^^

 

 

 

 

Finally, the dishes start coming out one by one. ^^

 

The Morning Glory stir-fry is very popular because it suits Korean tastes well. 

 

 

 

Morning Glory is a tropical vegetable commonly found in Southeast Asia. 

 

In Korea, it is called gongsimchae, in Thailand, pad bung, and in the Philippines, kangkong.

 

Stir fried morning glory with or without garlic and chilli (S 140 Baht, L 200 Baht )

 

It's so delicious with rice, it's perfectly savory! ^^ 

 

 

 

 

Fried Rice with Pork Neck, Small Size The crab meat on top of the fried rice is so cute. ^^;;;     Fried fish is called "pra kao krapao" in Thai.

 

Deep-fried Grouper with crispy basil, garlic, and chili (380 Baht)

 

I was torn between ordering shrimp dishes, but after trying the fried fish, I'm so glad I made the right choice!!! ^^

 

There was more fish meat than I expected, and the spicy-sweet sauce was delicious too ^^

 

 

 

 

 This is a Poppat Fung Kari S-size.  I was so hungry when I ordered that I wondered if I should have gone for size M, but I'm glad I ordered size S instead. ^^ It may vary from person to person, but I found it a bit heavy after eating it continuously. For two people, I think the S size would be appropriate.   

 

Fried curry crab ( S 380 Baht, M 550 Baht, L 1000–1200 Baht) Still absolutely delicious when mixed with rice!!!

 

 

 

 

 

I also enthusiastically spread and eat the beef brisket. ^^ 

 

 

As I kept eating, I ran out of rice, so I ordered more too^^;;

 

At first, I thought we wouldn't be able to finish it all, but the two of us managed to eat everything. ^^;;;;

 

 

I was so engrossed in eating that I didn't notice the restaurant had become completely full. 

 

When I went out to pay, there were quite a few people waiting in line. 

 

 

 

 

Two people ate until full and the bill came to 1,221 baht, approximately 41,000 KRW.

 

Isn't 41,000 won for seafood a pretty good deal??

 

 I went to eat Pad Thai, but the other dishes were also so delicious that I had a very satisfying meal. ^^ (The fried fish was absolutely delicious!!! )

 

Next time, we'll have to go together as a group!!!
