Review Information

Is there a rule that says I can only eat Thai food while traveling in Thailand?

Sometimes I miss Korean food, and sometimes I crave jjajangmyeon.

The place I will introduce today is, in my personal opinion,

It's a Chinese restaurant in Thailand that tastes even better than those in Korea.

There are a few Chinese restaurants in Bangkok that serve truly delicious food,

Among them is the newly opened Chinese restaurant, Daegyang.

The location is actually situated roughly halfway between Bangna and Central Bangna, in an area that is difficult to find unless you take a taxi.

It is somewhat inconvenient for travelers to visit.

Originally, Daga Hyang was a famous Chinese restaurant near the courthouse in Seochodong.

It is presumed that they have entered the Thai market from the same house.

The ad says so, haha. But since I didn't ask directly, I'm not entirely sure.

It is a two-story building with a rather majestic exterior.

Business hours are 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM for lunch and 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM for dinner.

Originally, the place was closed every Monday, but as of November, it has changed to being closed year-round.

I remember it was around 8 p.m. that day,

It seemed there weren't many people around, perhaps because it was a bit late.

Of course, it might still be too new to tell for sure.

The interior of Sikdak is neat and cool.

It's more of a fusion modern restaurant than a Chinese restaurant.

This is the menu. It seems to have almost all the main dishes.

While the prices are on the higher side considering Thailand's cost of living, they are generally comparable to those of Chinese restaurants in Korea.

To be honest, this is a burdensome price for a meal in Thailand.

First, the Sichon sweet and sour pork (S) we ordered. 450 Baht (approximately 15,000 KRW).

The taste is that of a mid-to-high-end Chinese restaurant in Korea. It's not bad.

Just for fun, I searched for the same menu item at Daegyang in Korea, and the regular-sized Sateon Sweet and Sour Pork was 20,000 won.

The next menu is Menbohah.

This is a menu item I haven't tried in Korea yet. You can think of it as Chinese-style fried bread.

I've seen Chef Lee Yeon-bok cook on the TV program "Please, Refrigerator."

Fried bread toast with shrimp stuffed between slices of bread... It wasn't as greasy as I expected and was incredibly delicious.

Chinese restaurant's signature dish: Jajangmyeon

I ordered a tray of jang-juang that can be shared among several people.

Generous chunks of meat, yum! However, the seasoning is a bit on the salty side. I wish it had been just a little less salty.

Still, if the taste is this good, it's definitely worth classifying as a great restaurant.

It's jjambong... Is jjambong a flat hit?

It did have a proper spicy kick... it wasn't flavorless, but somehow, it felt just 1% short of that perfect, fiery richness.

That was my taste. Still, it was better than most Chinese restaurants' Jjamppong.

Actually, it's not even in the city center, it's a bit hard to find, and the prices are high (compared to Thai standards).

It is true that the restaurant is not suitable for tourists.

However, if you have been in Bangkok for a long time, you might consider visiting once for a gathering or event.

It seems to be a Chinese restaurant that lacks nothing significantly in terms of atmosphere or other aspects.
