Ayutthaya, a popular destination in the outskirts of Bangkok, is a representative historical site.
There is also a stylish and cozy café in Ayutthaya ^^
It's been less than a year since opening, and the design is truly clean and sophisticated.
Even thinking about it now, it's a place I'd love to visit anytime, as long as it's not too far away!
I remodeled just the first floor of my personal home into a café~
The floors above are residential houses.
The cafe is run by a truly adorable newlywed Thai couple :)
They usually stay in Bangkok on weekdays and come in person on weekends to manage and welcome guests~
They were truly so kind!
If you've recently visited Korea for coffee research, you were warmly welcomed by me and my group!
It is still not widely known among Koreans, and
They say it's a place more well-known among young Thai friends!
They haven't been coming in such large numbers yet!
And it's completely quiet, even with a parking lot available~ For those visiting the cafe,
Parking is free for everyone!
The moment I stepped in, the red brick color caught my eye!
I really liked the font at the entrance of the cafe, Summer House~
If you don't enter through the entrance but go a bit further inside, there are also outdoor seating areas like in the photo below,
And... the part of this cafe that I liked the most was, just...
Above all, it was this green courtyard and the riverside view beside it.
And as the afternoon wore on, the sun wasn't as bright as it had been earlier; though there were many clouds, it didn't even rain.
It was just the perfect weather~
Sitting comfortably on the plush sofa, sipping a cup of coffee, I leisurely gaze at the river...
This is the perfect place to spend time chatting with someone you care about! Hehe.
The 2nd and 3rd floors would be perfect if this were a hotel rather than a private residence (purely a personal opinion, haha).
Shall we head inside now~
Hoo~
As expected, nothing beats the cool breeze of the air conditioner on this sticky, humid Thai day!
The air conditioning inside is really powerful!
The ceiling design is also fresh and vibrant, giving the impression that the owners' design sense is overflowing with creativity.
Tables that can seat 5 to 8 people, as well as tables for 1 to 2 people~
Maybe because it was the weekend, there were so many people and it was really crowded!
The person diligently making coffee in the photo above is the husband of the newlywed couple who own this place! haha
Personally, I have a strong interest in coffee, so on weekdays, I work in my profession while living in Bangkok.
They said they come to the cafe every weekend @_@..
Since you said it's rare to meet, I feel truly lucky to have met like this.
Here~ Shall we look around the menu now?
Overall, the prices weren't that high!
A house icon next to a menu item indicates it is a signature or recommended dish :)
Among the beverages, there's also coffee, but I've personally decided to go with the Watermelon & Mint juice!
My vision is a bit blurry from the beer... ahem... haha
Since it's my first visit, I decided to order some dishes I'm curious about~
The menu names are also so charming and perfectly match the cozy café vibe~
The only thing that's a bit disappointing is that there are no photos, so it's hard to imagine the scene.
Still, I decided to order Granny's Grilled Pork, recommended by the owner.
I happened to be slightly hungry, so I decided to try it!
And the menu item that immediately stands out in the main menu is Tomyum Kung Spaghetti!!!
Is it spaghetti in the broth of the pad thai they usually eat?
I was drawn to this unique menu item, and since it was recommended, I ordered it immediately!
My friend ordered a blended coffee.
Kindly note that additional fees are listed when you opt to add extras such as vanilla and caramel.~
I think anyone who enjoys coffee should give it a try at least once!
Worried about what to do for a post-meal dessert.
I'll order the menu item called "The 3 Blondies."
When it comes to menu recommendations, this dish is highly recommended above all!
I was really, really curious until it was revealed... haha
Finally here, the Watermelon & Mint Juice~
There aren't actually that many!
It's the natural sweetness of watermelon, without any added sugar!
Some of my friends who came along thought it was bland, but personally, I think it's delicious~
However, some friends expressed disappointment that there wasn't even a little bit of sweetness, lol.
It's a blended iced coffee!
This is a bit much~
Usually, when you order iced coffee at a Thai cafe, it's always served with sugar added.
As expected, this one comes out as black coffee with no sugar added, preserving the pure coffee flavor.
If you'd like to add anything else, just let us know when you place your order, just like we saw on the menu earlier!
I'm not an expert on coffee flavors, but it wasn't as bitter as traditional herbal medicine, and there was even a slight sour taste~
This was ordered by one of the group members who came along.
This is the Rose & Linz tea~ Rose and Linz turned out to be a better match than I thought!
But Lizzie, I thought she'd be sweet, but she's actually refreshing!
A subtle rose fragrance lingers at the end~
Wow, Thai-style sticky rice with seasoned grilled pork and truly fresh, crisp, and vibrant vegetables!
And even a Thai-style special sauce @_@
Even the cow's ear is warm, steaming gently with a soft ~
It was like bapsam in our country's cuisine!
There was a decent amount of leftovers; it might have been slightly insufficient if I were extremely hungry, but three of us were able to share it comfortably!
Most of all, the crisp cucumber paired perfectly with the meat~
I think Korean people will really like this!
Hoo~ The long-awaited Pad Thai Spaghetti is here!
It wasn't the spaghetti with the broth I was thinking of,
It doesn't smell like that cheap "Dongyam" cosmetic scent, and the high-end fragrance isn't strong enough,
It's full of other herb scents!
And, though it's hard to put into words, it had a charming flavor.
In conclusion, it was delicious~~~
I'll definitely order and eat this again when I come back! haha
It was the menu item I remembered most from my last visit~
Lastly, the menu features the post-meal dessert: The 3 Blondies!!!
Oh my god...
Is there such a cute dessert like this?
Those fluffy-looking treats above are a dessert famous for being well-made in Ayutthaya!
I've forgotten my Thai name...
You can think of this as roughly equivalent to cotton candy in our country!
It's commonly eaten by Indians as well, and in fact, it originated in India.
Place this bundle of sugar hair into a very thin container, similar to a Korean *jeonbyeong*, and roll it up.
a dessert that Thai people enjoy eating together
They say it's made with the unique menu of this chic summer house!
They said the wife was the one who put the most care into developing this menu item~
It was an unforgettable menu, leaving such a lasting impression!
Inside, there are three creams: Thai Tea flavor, Matcha flavor, and Oentim flavor.
(Oh-ten means Thai-style, so in our country it would be... Netty! Chocolate powder hehe, that's the product name~)
It was a delicious dessert that instantly whetted my appetite for another round~
I truly concluded the meal—neither a light lunch nor a full dinner, but rather a refreshing cup of water to end on a cheerful note—perfectly! ^^
Besides the ruins of Ayutthaya, before you return to Bangkok
Or, when planning your Ayutthaya trip, why not stop by to cool off from the heat for a while?~
I truly believe that this Summer House Cafe lives up to its name and to Thailand itself, brimming with a summer fragrance all year round~
