Moalboal Tour + Kawasan Canyoneering

0 0
Overview
What is the Moalboal + Kawasan Canyoneering tour?
This tour takes you to Moalboal’s Pescador Island, one of Cebu Island’s most pristine spots, and Kawasan Falls.

Your first stop is Pescador Island, where the unspoiled surroundings remain clean and pristine. It’s also a popular destination for scuba divers.

After your Moalboal island-hopping tour, you’ll head to Kawasan for a canyoning trek along the Kawasan Gorge.

Meet your local driver at your resort, then set off for Moalboal, about 100 km away. The drive follows a scenic coastal road, so even if you’re feeling sleepy, try to stay awake now and then to enjoy the views. You’ll arrive in Moalboal after about two hours.

You can enjoy snorkeling even if you can’t swim, with help from our dedicated local staff. The waters are teeming with colorful fish, and if you’re lucky, you may spot a school of sardines or sea turtles.

Leave the photos to the local staff and focus on snorkeling—they’ll take plenty of underwater photos for you.

After this short but memorable Moalboal island-hopping tour, you’ll head straight to Kawasan. The drive takes about 30 minutes, and you’ll have lunch before canyoning.

You’ll want to eat well before setting off on a canyoning adventure over mountains and through water. After a brief safety briefing, the tour will take about three hours.

Please take on the canyoning challenge only if you feel up to it that day. Most importantly, follow your Guide’s instructions carefully and take every precaution to stay safe. Even with the local staff’s close attention to safety, failing to be careful can lead to serious accidents. This is a fun tour, but it’s impossible to overemphasize the importance of safety—please take care and enjoy your adventure.

Once the two-hour tour is over, you’ll head back to your resort. The return trip takes at least three hours, so feel free to get some rest on the way.

Additional Information & Notes
Important Notice
✔️ The standard tour has changed from a hopping tour to a snorkeling tour that does not use a banca boat. If you would like to visit Pescador Island and join a hopping tour, please select the option to change to a hopping tour when booking. There is no additional charge.

✔️ On the snorkeling tour, you can relax and snorkel at the base camp instead of on a banca boat. You can also enjoy drinks at the base camp while taking in the ocean views (drinks are at your own expense).

✔️ For the Moalboal hopping tour operated by the Philippine Department of Tourism, you will have a vehicle to yourselves. However, depending on conditions on the day, you may share the banca (traditional boat) with other travelers.

The Moalboal hopping tour is a local-style tour that uses a locally rented banca. It is very different from the Mactan hopping tour.

* Pescador Island may not be accessible due to wave conditions. In that case, you may instead enjoy snorkeling at the turtle and sardine habitats, followed by a third snorkeling session at Coral Sanctuary, near the sardine habitat.

**Please note that if the tour cannot operate due to weather, the affected portion of the tour is non-refundable. Please keep this in mind when booking.**

- Canyoning is classified as an extreme sport and carries a high risk of injury. Please follow your Guide’s instructions at all times and take extra care to stay safe.

The tour also includes climbing and cliff diving, so it is generally not suitable for older guests or those with limited mobility. Please keep this in mind when booking.

*Please read the safety rules and notices below. By booking the Kawasan Canyoning tour, you agree to these rules and will be asked to sign a consent form on site.*

1. Please bring aqua shoes with thick, non-slip soles.

Aqua shoes are available to rent on site, but the quality may be poor and could increase the risk of an accident.

You cannot join the tour without aqua shoes.

2. Insurance may not cover canyoning tours.

Depending on your policy, canyoning—which includes extreme activities such as cliff diving and climbing—may be excluded from coverage.

You must purchase personal travel insurance and carefully review its terms and conditions.

3. Compensation cannot be provided in the event of an accident.

We will do our best to assist you should an accident occur, but we cannot cover medical expenses or provide additional compensation.

4. Pay close attention to the Guide’s safety briefing and follow all instructions.

Most accidents occur due to individual carelessness. Please listen carefully to the Guide’s safety briefing before the tour begins and follow their instructions.

5. Do not act independently during the tour.

During the canyoning tour, you must follow the Guide’s lead. You may not move around on your own or do anything that goes against the safety procedures.

Please follow the required diving positions and rules. If you do not follow the safety procedures, the Guide may end your tour. If your tour is ended for this reason, the full tour price is non-refundable.
